We are just passersby on Earth. Here on Earth, God is going to filter who’s who are going to the promised new Paradise, to live together with God. God has set the numbers of who are going with Him, but it is our personal decision, our choice, to be with Him. However, God is holy and pure, and a sinner cannot join Him because of sin. Each of our sins has equivalent death punishment! However, God loves us so much that He opted to save us by Himself. Who can save a person drowning at the sea of sin? Only the one who is not a sinner --- God. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to save us and to pay for our sins (John 3:16, Ephesians 2: 8-9). Even, if we commit suicide with purpose of saving ourselves, we cannot be saved unless we overcome death. I have not heard of anyone who resurrected again. Only Jesus did --- He died and overcame death by resurrection. Jesus is the only way. Jesus paid all our past, present and future sins. Everything that we should know about salvation is written in the New Testament.
We cannot save ourselves, our organized religion cannot bring salvation, our good works cannot save us from sin. It is Jesus Christ who can save us. Salvation is already a gift in front of us. We need to decide to accept it or not by FAITH. We need to accept Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior. However, remember that one of the signs of real faith is having the fruit of the Holy Spirit, including doing good works and being obedient to God’s word. At the end of the day, three remain, Faith, Hope and Love, but Love is the greatest among all. Moreover, God says he will reward each good work that believers did on Earth, but still whatever reward we have it is not a reason to boast. We have no reason to boast since in the first place, it is by grace and mercy we have been saved.
HOWEVER, there is one thing that makes the gate to the Paradise narrow. It is our heart, our freewill. God cannot force us to accept the wonderful GIFT of salvation. God needs to filter who are the worthy people who would willingly live with God in Paradise without rebellion. That is why here on Earth, God is already looking into our hearts… testing our hearts… molding our hearts. This is the purpose of uncertainties… of the Schrodinger’s cat… to mold our hearts. God would rather choose to hide Himself from our eyes so that Faith would be engraved in our hearts. Showing His grandeur to people would only result to forced belief. God needs to deal with our hearts so that in the new Paradise, our freedom will be genuine, a freedom not bounded by sin or any finite physical thing. We might be too vulnerable now, but if our hearts are willing, God will give the strength to overcome sin.
Now, many will argue: “hey, stop! You are talking about Paradise, but does God really exist?” Well, there are plenty of arguments crafted by philosophers (from St. Thomas Aquinas to the modern divinity school scholars). Yet, I am going to say this: lack of evidence causes debate and this debate would only end if there is a physical evidence of God. But, I think this would not happen because God is more concerned with the hearts of current and future Christians than with the brains of the unbelievers. I will argue like this: by using man’s perspective there is 50% probability that God exists and 50% chance that God does not exist (not mentioning that based from the historical writings, ancient people had already presented in their literatures that they encountered God; read the Old Testament). This logic is also applicable with Big Bang theory and theory of evolution --- there is x% that these maybe true and y% that these are false (with x & y probably lower than 50% because there is small chance that everything will come into place to establish a complex world that we have today). Yet don’t get me wrong, there are some facts in these scientific theories but some are also possibly unreal --- some are mere hypotheses tested with statistical methods with errors. So what we can do is to work on with possibilities, and answer categorically if God is true or not. Science in itself should not contradict God’s creation since Science is part of nature; but it is our incompetence as humans and the limitations of our man-made scientific methods, that limit us. Moreover, on my personal experience, I believe 100% God is real. I feel His presence. It is very difficult to explain this to unbelievers because one can only know this truth if he experience God --- but experiencing God needs believing in Him. So it is either fully experience God or not, there is no intermediate experience. I am not taking an appeal to emotions, but every Christian can testify to my claim. For it is also written that the Bible is written not for unbelievers but for the believers.
So let’s say God exists. Why then, God send His Son to us saying that “I and the Father are one”. Can the Holy Trinity be logical? Well, if we are talking finite, it is not logical. However, God is infinite (note: God is not equal to infinity, but rather infinity is a character of God). Infinity+Infinity+Infinity=Infinity. Simple as that. The concept of Infinity is so powerful. It can rationalize many things, from impossibility to possibility. Moreover, when we go to heaven, we will experience infinite blessings. There is imbalance in finiteness but there is balance in infinite resources. In paradise, we experience infinity because of the infinite resources from God and we are already eternal (no more death).
So everything revolves around the character of God: God is pure, just, loving, infinite, etc. God is a person, He has emotions. Emotions and freewill are some of the characters of the image of God imparted on us. People tend to complain and rationalize God. However, our individual and collective (society) minds are finite. We should not forget (the bible always reminds us about this) that it is the Creator, the manufacturer of all, who control and design His creation. A watch cannot complain to the watchmaker about his design. Who don’t have any say, we don’t have any right --- but thankfully, God is so generous (a providing God!) that He gives us the right to become His children. How truly God loves us. Moreover, remember that all of God’s creations are perfect but sin made them imperfect. Sin is not created by God, but rather sin is the absence of God --- we have used our freewill and limited knowledge to act like a god.
This Good News must be circulated and shared to all people (but be careful not to add or subtract truth from the Word). We need to share this. Only few people stayed faithful with God in the ancient times --- Noah, Abraham, Jacob, etc. God saw the heart of Abraham and chose Abraham. From the spiritual lineage of Abraham came the Israelites and the people who would spread the Good News. So do not expect other countries/religion to know this Good News, their ancestral ignorance is probably due to the curse brought by their ancestors’ sins. God is calling, we need to answer… Let us populate the new Paradise!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!
